What I'm Loving Now

Life has been crazy busy the last couple of weeks and Adam has barely been home. It's been... weird. I've been making extra effort to be super productive and also take in everything around me. I'm trying to look on the bright side of things and just finding happiness everywhere I can.

Some things I've been loving...

Everything on the Kate Spade website... I really want one of her purses.

All the graphic tank tops at Hot Topic.

Bangs... I can't officially decide what to do with my hair though...

DIY: Vintage Flower Beads

A while back I received some amazing vintage flower beads from No Snow Supplies. I knew that I wanted to make some magnets out of them so they could be on display all the time. They are way too pretty to be hidden inside my jewellery box. But I had to get my hands on a glue gun (yes, I'm a crafter that doesn't own a glue gun. I plan on changing that sooner than later).

Anyways, after borrowing a friend's glue gun I pulled out some crafts supplies... magnets and pin backs.

It didn't take very long to glue everything together. I think the longest part was figuring out which beads and colours I wanted to put together. I ended up making 4 magnets and 2 pins.

While I had the glue gun out I decided to stick a couple of magnets on the back of LSP that I received recently in the post. Now she gets to hang out on my fridge too!

I still have a lot of flower beads left. I think I might make some magnet sets to put with future gifts.

Check out No Snow Supplies for an amazing selection of vintage beads!

Style Inspiration

I just finished re-watching Season One of Suburgatory. My friend lent me the season which worked out perfectly because Adam has been up North working so I've had the TV all to myself.

And just like the first time I watched Suburgatory, I loved Tessa Altman instantly..... her hair, clothes, attitude, and just overall character. Every time I see the show I want to cut my hair like Tessa's and embrace my wavy hair. I also adore her wardrobe in the show. Her style is a mix of tomboy and preppy. She wears a lot of dresses and skirts. But they're usually paired with a military-style jacket and biker boots. I love it!

After seeing Jane Levy (Tessa) in Evil Dead, I thought I'd have a hard time watching her in Suburgatory again. But nope... within a couple of episodes I was laughing at Tessa's debates and conversations with her father (played by Jeremy Sisto).

If you haven't seen Suburgatory, definitely give it a try! The characters and writing are hilarious!

Moving

So my big news... well, it's not huge news but then again it is. Adam was offered a job last week in Sudbury, Ontario. Which means next month we're moving 5 hours up North.

I'm still in shock and trying to process the whole situation. Everything has happened really quickly and Adam has been in Sudbury working already.

I'm beyond excited and proud of Adam for getting a paramedic job and I know that he's thrilled to start a job that he went to school for. Though, it's a little overwhelming at the moment.

I've been up there a handful of times now with Adam, both last year and this year for job testing. I've never actually been there outside of the Winter months. I'm excited to see Sudbury when everything is green!

One thing that excites me is that Sudbury is called the 'City of Lakes'. There's 330 lakes within the city and I plan on exploring them all! Not only are their a handful of beaches there I can go to throughout the summer, but I can only imagine the walks and hikes me and Adam will go on!

And why the picture of the nickel? There's a giant nickel (a 30-foot replica) off of the highway there because of the nickel mining in Sudbury. Oh, and there's a pretty cool Science Centre there too that I'm excited to check out!

So here's to new adventures!

Etsy Crush

Last month I came across this awesome Etsy shop, Pixel Closet. The shop is filled with the cutest fused beads accessories! I'm in love with all the keychains in the shop! The LSP one is definitely my favourite. And I don't know about other cat owners, but my one kitty enjoys eating plants so we don't have any in our apartment. This only makes me want the Piranha Flower or Fire Flower even more!

Go fall in love with all their accessories and check out Pixel Closet's facebook page too for new pixel creations that aren't up in the Etsy shop yet!

Art-O-Con

Yesturday was Art-O-Con in Burlington and boy, do I feel like it kicked my butt! haha. Seriously though, I had a busy weekend since Saturday was filled with errands (some fun) with Adam and then I worked until midnight Saturday night. So I was tired to begin with yesturday morning. Add in a 10 hour art/craft show, and I'm physically and mentally exhausted!

Art-O-Con was a ton of fun though! First of all, I loved the venue! It was inside a room at the Holiday Inn in Burlington. It was like 5 steps from a door to the parking lot. This made moving my stuff in and out super easy, and no one had a chance to get lost looking for the show.

They had the Doctor Who society, the X-Men of Toronto, the Ontario Ghostbusters, and Toronto Batman there which made for a super entertaining day. I witnessed Toronto Batman facing off a Dalek, had my X-Men shirt admired by Rogue and Gambit, and just met so many awesome people there!

What I wore:

I picked up a sprinkle necklace from Wolf and Squid which I love! My new sprinkle necklace from Wolf and Squid <3 www.wolfandsquid.etsy.com

It was such a great show! And now I'm even more pumped for my upcoming comic conventions!

My Life in Photos

This week has been interesting and really busy. It looks like we have some pretty big life changes coming up for me and Adam... but I'll talk about that later.

For now, this was my past month... the weather started to feel like Spring and we were able to go on some walks and hikes and eat more Froyo!

Adam's birthday was spent out and about and we had to bundle up in layers because it was snowing that day.

And I finally used the confetti nail polish I bought at work and I love it! My nails may be painted like confetti cupcakes all summer long!
